Uzbekistan plans to produce $139mn worth of localised chemical products in 2021
Uzbekistan’s chemical enterprises by the end of this year plan to produce 26 types of localised goods worth $139mn, state-owned Uzkimyosanoat company said on Friday.
It added that enterprises engaged in the sphere delivered $40.9mn worth of goods between January-April, exceeding the target by 136.94%. The volume of exports comprised $11.49mn, whereas during the past year they exported $22.9mn worth of chemical goods.
“Maxam-Chirchiq”, “Navoiazot” and “Ferganaazot” are the largest companies engaged in the sphere. They produce nitrogen fertilizers, including ammonium nitrate, carbamide, and ammonium sulfate.
Enterprises within the structure of Uzkimyosanoat currently produce over 170 types of chemical products annually.
Earlier this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev urged a reduction in the state`s holdings in chemical enterprises and the introduction of international standards of corporate governance and financial reporting in the chemical industry.
