Until 2028, the fee and excise tax on the import of polyethylene granules are resettled
The decision was made to support manufacturers of products from polymers in Uzbekistan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on support measures for local manufacturers of products from ethylene and propylene polymers. This was reported by the channel of legal information from the Ministry of Justice.
The document introduces a zero excise tax rate on imported plastic granules of species that are not produced in Uzbekistan and meet a certain technical parameter. The benefit is valid from September 1, 2025 to January 1, 2028.
In addition, before the same date, an import fee is reset to the primary forms of individual ethylene and propylene polymers (TN FEDs 3901 10 900 0, 3901 30, 3901 40 and 3902 10 000 0).
According to the classifier of the TN FEA codes, we are talking about the following types of products:
- polyethylene with a specific weight of less than 0.94 (except linear polyethylene);
- Sopropolymers of ethylene with vinyl acetate;
- Ethylene-alpha-olefin beeps with a specific weight below 0.94;
- polypropylene.
At the same time, measures will be taken to prevent the import of low -quality and counterfeit flexible packages (plastic bags, films, etc.) according to the principle of ex Officio. This will allow customs authorities to stop the supply of counterfeiting without the statement of the copyright holder.
In March, the president with a decree introduced export duties for 86 types of goods, including polyethylene and polypropylene as strategic types of raw materials. Tariffs aimed at stimulating the production of goods with high added value from local materials came into force on July 1.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers has introduced polyethylene into the list of goods with a special procedure for control of customs value. The entrepreneur will be able to apply for a customs declaration for him, provided that the value indicated in it is at least 80% of the average for similar goods for the previous 90 days.
