The Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Ministry of Energy organized a press tour to Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex in Kashkadarya region.

The complex includes more than 150 enterprises. Annually, up to 3.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas are processed, 3.5 billion cubic meters of commercial gas, more than 125 thousand tons of polyethylene pellets, 100 thousand tons of liquefied gas, 100 thousand tons of gas condensate, 1.5 thousand tons of sulfur pellets, more than 750 thousand square meters of aluminum composite panels, 4.5 thousand tons of polyethylene pipes, hoses and connecting parts, as well as drip irrigation technologies and others are produced here.

Currently, it employs almost four thousand workers, and half of them are young people.

Now the complex is implementing construction and installation activities at a new substation with two 125 MVA transformers. 

The total cost of the substation is 81 billion UZS and projected by Sredazenergosetproekt Institute. 

The project is aimed at increasing the export potential of the sphere by expanding the range of polymer products with high added value by deepening the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, as well as increasing the production of import-substituting raw materials.
